BOOK UP YOUR IDEAS
ABOUT
Always liked books – reading them, yes, but touching them too, feeling the heft, turning the page. And I’m a fan of a good illustration, whether it’s a technical drawing, a snappy photo, a pencil sketch or an infographic. The Imperial edition of William Shakespeare, the drawings of Arthur Rackham, maps from John Bartholomew’s company, a set of lithograph postcards of Dutch windmills …bring ‘em on!

The aim is for the pictures on the LIBRARY page to feature a few favourites and some current obsessions. They’re the ones that, when you start to dig deeper, lead to all sorts of fascinating facts and, in almost equal measure, weird and wonderful insights. Or just descriptions of things of beauty.
And the BLOG page will chart Book Up Your Ideas progress, or lack of it, and the passage of time. There are auctions to go to, shops and markets to wander round, and an endless amount of things going on that are apparently designed to wind me up!
If I’m brutally honest, the CONTACT page won’t have a lot on it to start with – the website will take some time to compile and build up a head of steam, without you feeling you have to chip in. Give it a while and I’m sure the opportunity will arise. Until then, there’s always Twitter, if you’re that way inclined, and ebay if your appetite is whetted.
